Mark D. Stout,
Divisional Vice President / Associate General Counsel

Mark is Divisional Vice President and Associate General Counsel. His responsibilities include managing the Leasing Division of the Legal Department. Mark also manages the Records Division of the company.

Mark joined WRI as Associate Counsel in May 1994 to form the Acquisitions Division of the Legal Department. Mark managed the Legal Acquisitions Division until May 2003, when he was appointed to manage the Leasing Division of the Legal Department. Since that appointment, Mark was promoted to Associate General Counsel in December 2003 and later promoted to Vice President / Associate General Counsel in January 2005.

Before Mark joined Weingarten Realty, he practiced real estate and mortgage finance law in Houston, Texas from 1984 to 1994 with the Houston office of Butler & Binion, LLP.

Mark graduated from Marquette University in 1981 with a BS degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance. He received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1984 from the University of Houston Law Center.

Mark is admitted to the State Bar of Texas and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Mark is also a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and has served on their nominating committee.
