W. Greg Murphy,
Senior Vice President / Director of Industrial Properties and Acquisitions

Mr. Murphy serves as Senior Vice President of the Industrial Division for Weingarten Realty. As such he is responsible for the operations of over 18 million square feet of product including approximately 17 million square feet wholly owned by WRI. Specifically, Mr. Murphy oversees the leasing and management of more than 80 separate projects spanning the southern United States. He is also responsible for all industrial acquisitions and dispositions.

Prior to joining WRI in February 2001, Mr. Murphy was the Managing Director of Industrial Real Estate Services for Oxford Development Company, a full-service real estate firm based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During his four-year tenure at Oxford he leased, sold or acquired over 15 million square feet of industrial real estate at a value exceeding $600 million.

Mr. Murphy received his undergraduate degree in business and economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1986, where he was an All-American swimmer, and his MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh's prestigious Katz Graduate School of Business in 1989.

Mr. Murphy is a distinguished member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), currently serving on the National Events and Conventions Committee. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Gulf Coast Chapter of SIOR and is a member of Urban Land Institute, PEDA and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
