Richard H. Carson,
Regional Vice President, New Development and Acquisitions

Rick is Vice President and Senior Regional Director of New Development for Weingarten Realty Investors.  Located in WRI's Atlanta, GA regional office, Rick oversees Weingarten's new development projects in the southeast.  His responsibilities include management oversight of New Development projects, land acquisitions and structuring of joint venture arrangements.

Rick joined WRI in September 2008, bringing  more than 30 years of executive marketing and retail development experience to Weingarten. Prior to joining WRI, Rick served as Executive Vice President/Development Partner for Hendon Properties, LLC in Atlanta where he was responsible for the development of regional power and grocery anchored centers. Previously, he held several senior level positions in sales, marketing and corporate development outside the real estate industry. Rick has taken a number of graduate finance courses in addition to holding a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University.
